We asked Manel to tell us a little bit about herself so you can get to know her. Here's what she wrote:
My Background:
Originally from Algeria, I have been living in Canada for three years now. My immigration journey has not been easy, especially since I went from being a pampered girl to suddenly finding myself alone facing everything. However, I learned to rely on myself, overcome many challenges, and develop a strong ability to adapt.
My Journey:
I am currently completing my studies in Social Entrepreneurship at Collège Boréal in Toronto, and I will finally receive my diploma at the end of April 2026. 😊
Throughout my studies, I have developed a strong interest in initiatives that combine innovation, solidarity, and social impact. My experience in Canada has also allowed me to live in dynamic cities such as Montreal and Toronto—environments that have enriched my worldview and fueled my passion for discovery, human connection, and community development.
Why Business Sisters :
I am very happy to join Business Sisters in Alexandria, Ontario, as part of my practical internship. This organization represents a highly inspiring environment for me, where values such as mutual support, empowerment, and social entrepreneurship truly come to life. Joining this committed team is a valuable opportunity to learn, contribute to meaningful projects, and take part in initiatives that create a positive impact in the community—while also aligning practice with the theory I have learned over the past two years.
My Objective:
My goal is to continue my path in the field of social entrepreneurship and to get involved in projects that promote sustainable change. I am grateful to begin this new chapter with Business Sisters and excited to contribute to this meaningful mission as the start of my journey as a social entrepreneur 😊.
